That's pretty much what I was saying except I assumed you had all of your
text down first and needed to circle something to draw attention to it.

I figured it out. Click on the autoshape
it becomes a cross - drag the cross until
it is the shape you want and then right click
a menu appears with "insert text". And that's it.
