Default Size of Doc gets bigger even when I reduce number of pages

Hi ?B?bGlzYQ==?=,

I have been working on a document for two days now. It started at 78 pages
and 214KB and I have now reduced it to 63 pages but the size of the document
has increased to 261KB. I haven't really done any formatting changes or
anything like that where I could see it making a big difference in file size.
Anyone know what the issue is or how I can remedy it

This is typically a symptom of a damaged (corrupt) document. If some of the
internal structures that manage the document don't work correctly, things don't
get deleted as they ought, and "junk" accumulates in the file. Over time, this
could result in the document becoming unusable.

Try selecting everything but the last paragraph mark (Ctrl+A, Shift+LeftArrow),
copy, then paste into a new document. (Note: you may lose headers, footers,
margins, etc.) Save that and compare the file sizes.

Another possibility is to save to a different file format, close, open, then
save back to the original format. The file converters usually do a good job of
detecting "junk" and leaving it behind. If we knew which version of Word you're
using, we could make a suggestion or two about which file type...
