They say they look at the suggestion posts, especially if they get votes.
This is the new and improved method of sending feedback.

The change as suggested is needed in controlled document environments. It is
annoying the feature works this way and doesn't provide the capability to
apply a format for the characters in a selection basis for the change bars.
