You could make this transformation automatic by using an autocorrect
options and enable the formatting for that word.

I did this by the following steps:

1. Type the required word.

2. Make it bold manually

3. Select the word

4. Select AutoCorrect which comes up with the replacement word listed.

5. Type the same word in the replace column.

The most obvious downside is that this will apply to all documents
created from that point on.
