Thumbs up Answer: how to make the small exponent numbers or scientific notation

To write small exponent numbers or scientific notation in Microsoft Word:
  1. Type the base number first, then select the number you want to make into an exponent.
  2. Go to the "Home" tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen.
  3. In the "Font" section, click on the "Superscript" button (it looks like an "x" with a small "2" above it).
  4. The selected number will now appear as a small superscript above the baseline.
  5. To write a number in scientific notation, type the base number first, then type the letter "e" (for "exponent").
  6. Type the exponent number after the "e".
  7. Select the exponent number.
  8. Go to the "Home" tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen.
  9. In the "Font" section, click on the "Superscript" button.
  10. The selected exponent number will now appear as a small superscript above the baseline.

To fix the issue with the street address:
  1. Select the "st".
  2. Click on the "Subscript" button (it looks like an "x" with a small "2" below it) in the "Font" section of the "Home" tab.
