It appears that you have some name fields without data so you are simply
merging the space between the fields. You need to conditionally merge the
fields eg
{ Mergefield MrMrs }{If {Mergefield "1st Name"} "" " {Mergefield "1st
Name"}"}{If {Mergefield "2nd Name"} "" " {Mergefield "2nd Name"}"} {
Mergefield "Last Name" }
The whole string goes on one line - wrapped naturally if too long to fit.
Use CTRL+F9 for the brackets {} and ensure the fieldnames are spelled
correctly.

I am using Excel spreadsheet data to merge into a Microsoft Word
mailing label template. The first line of the label draws from this
info on Excel: MrMrs, 1st name, and, 2nd name, last name. When the
merge occurs, sometimes there is an extra space before the 1st name
and then sometimes extra space between names. How do I avoid these
extra spaces?
