Default How do I show deletions when tracking changes

The Final Showing Markup view will show deletions in balloons (if you have
balloons enabled) in Print Layout and Web Layout view only. If you have
balloons enabled and are seeing strikethrough, either you're in Normal or
Outline view or you're in Original Showing Markup view (which shows
insertions in balloons). If your Track Changes tab doesn't say anything
about balloons, then you don't have Word 2002 or 2003.

I want deletions to show in balloons and not as strikethrough. But tools-
options-track changes doesn't give me a delete option

Go to TOOLS, OPTIONS, TRACK CHANGES, make sure deletions is set to
Strikethrough. If you don't want deletions to show as balloons, then

make
sure on towards the bottom of that screen where it says Use Balloons

that you
set it to NEVER.

When I turn on "track changes" insertions show up in color but

deletions do
not show up at all. That is, I can delete text only by right-clicking

on the
deleted text and clicking "accept deletion" in the menu; from the

appearance
on the screen, nothing is being deleted at all. I'd like to have the
deletions in balloons on the side but I can't figure out how to do

this.
