Default Borders in consecutive paaragraphs

TOC styles are set to update automatically, so you can select any two TOC
entries at the appropriate level and apply this formatting, and it will be
saved to the style.

I was trying to do it by modifying the TOC1 style. As you save, you get

this
option if you select two paragraghs with the TOC1 style attached before
selecting Modify but in theory you didn't ought to need to do this if
modifying a style.

You need to select two paragraphs to make that option available in the
Borders and Shading dialog.

But how do you do an inside border when applied to a paragraph, not a

table?

You'll need a Horizontal Inside Border as well.

I am trying to define TOC styles so that every entry in the TOC has

a
bottom
border. The problem is that if consecutive paragraphs have the same
border,
the border is only displayed in the last of the paragraphs.
