If it's not showing up in Print Preview, then it's probably not something
Word knows about. That suggests it's coming from the printer driver. Either
the printer driver has gone berserk or (remote possibility) a "watermark"
has been defined in the printer Properties. The latter would be worth
investigating, but if that doesn't turn up anything (for example, if your
printer isn't capable of creating its own watermark), and if this is
happening on all documents, then I would suggest deleting and reinstalling
the printer.

If it's happening just on this document, then it's possible it's a rare form
of corruption where something has been inserted in the document in XML. You
may be able to see it by viewing the document in Web Layout view. If you
can, try selecting Format | Background | No Fill (although this would not be
printing unless you had that option enabled in Word 2003, in which case
you'd see it in Print Preview).

I am revising a Word doc that includes 3 tabled columns of text. It

looks
great on normal print view and on print preview, however when printed,

the
2nd column appears to have unknown text printed/overlayed on top of

the
existing 2nd column text and then there is other unknown text that

print
to
the outside of the 3 column print. It's as if there is hidden tables

that
are printing in addition to the existing table text. Any clues would

be
most
helpful.
Thanks,
Tom
