The field construction that you should have would look like
{ = { MERGEFIELD fieldname } * 100 \# 0.0000% }
You must use Ctrl+F9 for both pairs of field delimiters.
If what you see is
{=0.462500000000000002*100 \#0.0000%}
it would appear that the remaining pair of { } were typed from the keyboard
rather than being created by using Ctrl+F9

respectively
b. the \#0.#% switch would result in 1.space%, 1.2% and 1.2%

c. a \#0.00% switch would result in 1.00%, 1.20% and 1.23%
respectively
....and so on. I don't have field code that does that and
although
it
may
be
fairly easy to do something useful it's probably best avoided
unless
you
really need it. Maybe macropod has tested code for that?)
