Cyber Taz,

Thanks fo rthe note.

Regarding the printer and not the software... PageMaker does this and we
have used it for years on a wide varity of laser printers.

Oh well, guess Word doesn't do it and that was my question.

thanks again

Will

Hi Will-

AFAIK, no, unless the printer driver enables that kind of capability.
Halftone screening is a function of the printing process, not the document
software, and not all printers support it.

In the printing world they often "Screen" text...

The results, depending on screen density, is dark text will appear
lighter
in color... but it is not the same as simply changing blue to light
blue...

A screen would block any color from the paper in certain area's and let
the
full color print in others...

Much like if you took screen wire and put it between the printing press
and
the paper...

Pagemaker and such allow you to apply a screen to text or whatever... can
you do the same in Word?

thanks for any help - Will
