Default Scrambled Documents

Hi - thanks for your reply. I backed the old documents up onto a data cd and
then transferred them onto the new computer. When I go 'file' and 'open',
they're all there. But when I open them, it's just a lot of mumbo jumbo
gobbldegook - that's all I can describe it as.

Word 2007 should have no problem with files created in earlier versions. The
doc opens in Compatibility Mode, which is indicated in the Title Bar.

Can you be more descriptive of what "scrambled" means to you as well as what
the structure of the docs might be?By "transferred onto new computer" I
assume you have copied them to the unit's HD and are *not* trying to open
them from some type of removable media.

Have just got new computer which runs Vista. Word is 2007.
My documents from previous computer were created in Word 2003. I have
backed them up and transferred onto new computer, but they are scrambled when
I open them. How do I open them?
