Close the Doc1 offering and the close button will change to an Open button.
Click on Open and navigate to the BobGlobal.dot and open it.

already have a global template, which is in the startup folder and is the

click Organizer and seek to select BobGlobal.dot as the template into
which to copy styles and macros from normal.dot, I do not see
BobGlobal.dot as an option (only normal.dot and document 1). How can I

Under Tools, Templates and Add-in, click on Organizer. The Organizer is
used to move custom macros, toolbars, styles and Auto Text between
templates. So create a new blank template and give it a memorable name.
Then open Organizer and select normal one side and the new template the
other side. You can now copy across the customization you want.

You can use this method to keep normal.dot slim and fast too by always
saving your customizations to a custom template. If you then place the
custom template in the Word Startup folder (see Tools, Options, File
Locations to either find the location or change the location of this
folder). In a business environment, the Startup folder is often placed on
the server and all users have the Startup path pointing to the server
location. Then company styles, AutoText, etc may be shared by all users.

Now those styles are in my normal.dot template. I have read that it is
a good idea to keep your special macros and styles in another global
template, so that if you have to start over with a new normal.dot you do
not lose all of your customization. Can you tell me how to move these
styles (and a couple of new macros I just assigned) over to my
BobGlobal.dot? Thank you.

When you modify the styles (using Format, Styles dialog) there's a
check box 'Save to Template'. If you check that box before changing the
styles, when you save your document, you will be prompted to save
changes to the template xxx.dot at the same time.
