Default Page Numbering in Word 2007

Well, you also have to insert a PAGE field (use the Insert Page Number
button on the Header and Footer toolbar or whatever the Word 2007 equivalent
is). Before you do that, though, you'll need to unlink that header/footer
from the previous one.

I have a 40 page document and I wish to start the 4th page with number 1.

I
followed to the "t" the instructions in the help menu. When, however, I
reach to the point where it states to click on Format Page Numbers and

then
type 1 in the Start Box and click OK, the number is not inserted in the
document. Is this a bug in the program by any chance? Any suggestions. I

am
using version 2007.
