How have the check boxes been created? If they use the method suggested at
http://www.gmayor.com/Macrobutton.htm are the macros still available?
If they are form fields is the form protected?

In this document in Word 97-2003 format has check boxes if you double
click on the empty box a check mark will appear in the box. We use

office computers to Word 2007 and on these computers when we open
this document we are not able to use the check boxes. we have tried
