Default Right-hand alignment of numbers in table of contents?

By default, the TOC styles have a period leader. Misalignment of the page
numbers suggests a problem with the tab stop setting for one TOC level or
another.

My table of contents is aligned left, so that the headings line up
exactly.
But, page numbers on the right side of the page are out of alignment by
fractions of a character. Any ideas?

I am no Word expert by any means, but I have solved this problem
occasionally by using periods between the name of the chapter and the
number
of the chapter.

Like this:

13th Day........26
Go or No Go...32
Last Chance...45
