In Tools | Macro | Macros, make sure there is no macro named FileNewDefault
(other than in the Word Commands list).

Thanks for replying. I was able to check the Properties on the Shortcut.
That points to the application (which is in a different location than the
templates for some reason). But, I'm not sure how to check the New
button.

Check the shortcut you use to start Word to make sure it isn't pointing
to a
different template. Also make sure that your New button is running the
default FileNewDefault command and not a macro that uses a different
template.

My new pages in Word aren't based on normal.dot. I've checked
