Thumbs up Answer: How do I track the history of a word document?

Tracking the History of a Word Document
  1. Open the Word document that you want to track the history of.
  2. Click on the File tab in the top left corner of the screen.
  3. Click on Info in the left-hand menu.
  4. Click on Manage Document in the middle of the screen.
  5. Click on View Document Properties at the bottom of the drop-down menu.
  6. Click on the Versions tab.
  7. Here, you will see a list of all the versions of the document that have been saved. You can see the date and time that each version was saved, as well as who saved it.
  8. If you want to see the changes that were made in a specific version, click on the version and then click on Compare.
  9. This will open a new document that shows the changes that were made between the selected version and the previous version.

So, as you can see, it is possible to track the history of a Word document and see when it was opened and saved, as well as the changes that were made in each version.
