Default Incredibly stupid column question

I'm not sure what suggestion would "wipe out" anything. If both columns are
filled, there's no need for a column break.

I'm talking about newspaper columns, not table columns. But if I use your
suggestion, it wipes out what is in the other column. I am looking for a
way
to seamlessly move from column to column, both (or all) of which contain
data.

Assuming you are talking about newspaper-style columns and not table
columns, there isn't any really surefire way to move between existing
columns, but if you need to start another column before the first is
filled,
you can insert a column break with Ctrl+Shift+Enter.

I cannot always move easily between columns on a page in Word-any tricks
to
this? Feeling dumb asking this question-but dumber still when it
doesn't
work!
