I used to have this problem at a job where draft printing was done to my
cheapie printer, and other printing was done to the (very expensive at the
time) color printers. So, I record a macro of myself hitting File--Print,
and choosing the OTHER printer, and I put it on my toolbar button. Then I
did one for my plain printer. You can then drag the old "print" icon off,
put the plain printer icon there, and the fancy printer icon to the right of
it. Don't worry. Make the fancy one brighter, and you'll never miss it when
you go to print. Works great. Here's how to record a macro:

The Paper/Quality setting is set to plain in my default printer properties
When I create a new Word document and when selecting File Print I wish to
temporarily change the Paper/Quality to letterhead for this document only.
When I create the next new document I wish it to use the Printer default
setting.
Word is retaining the last setting used.

Is there a user friendly way of implementing this without having to go
back
into the properties to reset it.
