Thank you for your response.
I tried your method as well.
Unfortunately I found that the picture could only be sized by the click and
drag boxes and that the format picture option (right click) was greyed out.
Therefore this also does not quite address the issue of defing the space
where you want the picture to go and then inserting the picture to fit that
space, rather than having to mess around and resize.
Dougs suggestion may work if I can work out how to fix the table size so it
does not resize and the image fits the table.
Thanks again for your suggestion will keep it in mind for future reference
and where picture size can be to page width.
