Hello-

Its actually the Grammar Checker that catches spaces between sentences,
although it isn't really a grammatical issue. I guess MS decided to include
it there since it is _typographically_ incorrect and a very common mistake
since most folks were actually taught to put 2 spaces between sentences due
to the inadequacy of typewriters.

My gues is that multiple spaces between words is far less common and to have
it included in the Grammar Checker would be intolerably slow, especially in
long docs... every gap between characters would have to be looked at by the
feature every time it ran.

If multiple spaces between words is a concern, use Find & Replace for the fix.

I'm using Word 2003 and when I conduct a spell check it doesn't check for
spaces between words, while it does check for sapces between sentences. I
can put as many as 10 spaces between a word and the spell checker won't catch
it.
