The only reason I asked was that some OCR programs I think do use frames.
But if you don't see them in Normal view, then they definitely are text
boxes. Here's one thing that will help, however. Convert one text box to a
frame, then select the next (immediately) and press F4 (Repeat). If that
works, then just keep selecting text boxes and pressing F4 till they're all
done.

The file contains section breaks and text boxes, no frames.
Somehow, I managed to select the boxes in the first two pages, and CTRL-Q
removed them.
But I couldn't figure out how to select the other three pages.
I reverted the file, and now I cannot select any boxes.
Incidentally, when I view in Normal, only the section breaks appear. To
see
the text boxes, I have to view in Print Layout.
Recall that I mentioned this file was created by Omnipage, not by Word, so
there's no telling what's in it. Although, I'm working on versions saved
by
Word.
(I'm doing the workaround: make the text boxes frames one by one -- there
are only 3 more pages to go!)
