You could format that page as two columns. Done that way, each half acts as
a mini-page of sorts. The text could then be centered on the left "page"
without affecting what's on the right, and without going to the center of
the physical page.
If you're using Word 2007, column formatting can be found in the Page Layout
tab--Page Setup section.
