I have numbered items items in a cell. I pressed ctrl+tab
before the 5th item to make it the sub item of 4th item.
Nothing happened.

Is there any options to correct this?

It sounds like you're looking for a type of outlining Excel
doesn't provide. Read Help; Index and enter "Outline" in the
Find box.
