Klaus, Beth

I knew about Klaus's way, but I hadn't tested it enough to feel comfortable
about recommending it.

And I'd forgotten about Beth's way, but I'll now add it to my web page about
track changes.

Cheers

That's one I found the hard way since it's titled "Remove personal
information from file properties on save" in Word 2003 during the beta. I
thought it would remove file properties only - not all Authors!

Oh well, at least I learned something I could pass on to someone else. :-)

Hi Beth,

Oops, didn't know *that*. Thanks!
I thought the tracked changes would be removed altogether...

Regards,
Klaus

If you have Word 2002 or Word 2003 then go to Tools/Options/Security
and turn on "Remove personal information on save". This will remove
the author names. Note the Tracked Changes and Comments will still be
present in the file however they will be referenced as "Author"
instead of the individual author names.
