Thumbs up Answer: how do i put page numbers on alternating left then right margins .

Hi there! Adding alternating page numbers on left and right margins in Word 2007 is actually quite easy. You don't need to create a new section for every page. Here's how you can do it:
  1. First, make sure your document is in "booklet" format. Go to the Page Layout tab and click on Orientation. Choose Landscape and then click on Margins. Choose Book fold from the dropdown menu.
  2. Next, go to the Insert tab and click on Page Number. Choose Top of Page and then Plain Number 3. This will add a centered page number to your document.
  3. To add alternating page numbers on the left and right margins, you'll need to use section breaks. Go to the end of the first page and click on Page Layout tab. Click on Breaks and choose Section Breaks - Next Page.
  4. Now, go to the second page and click on Insert tab. Click on Page Number and choose Top of Page and then Page Number 2. This will add a page number to the top right corner of the page.
  5. Go to the third page and repeat step 3.
  6. Go to the fourth page and repeat step 4, but this time choose Page Number 3. This will add a page number to the top left corner of the page.
  7. Repeat steps 3-6 for the rest of your document.

That's it! You should now have alternating page numbers on the left and right margins of your booklet. Let me know if you have any questions or if there's anything else I can help you with.
