If you have unlinked the TOC, it should not update, but you shouldn't
need
to do that just to print it, assuming it's still part of the original
document on which it's based. What you do need to do is update it (with
F9)
before printing, which will get rid of the "Error" messages by removing

headings that are no longer found in the document.

I have a 13 page TOC, which BTW I am disappointed as only about 65%
of
the results are correct requiring me to edit quite a lot of info
(page
no's are OK). I find I cant print the TOC - was told to unlink the
index to press Ctrl+Shift+F9 but it doesn't work for me, when I print
I
get 'Error! Bookmark not defined' message - help someone

Hi Suzanne, thanks for replying to my SOS, however your solution
doesn't work and its occurred to me that is because I have split the
660 pages of my document into 6 files, and my TOC is a compilation of
the TOC's of these files, could that be my problem?
Am now wondering if I will have the same problem with the index I am
about to compile, which will be of thousands of entries.
Should I temporarily join these 6 files until both the TOC and Index
are completed.
BTW was advised to split the files so they would load quickly !!!
I appreciate your invaluable help.

Cheers,
Patricia
