I noticed several requests over the last month or so for a method of
inserting a picture into a protected form. I've prepared a sample
template with the macro code required to do it. You can download it
from http://jay-freedman.info/form_picture.zip. If you have any
questions about it, please post here or email me at the address in the
template.

Hi ?B?RkFQ?=,

I'm not certain exactly what your question is, but I do see some possible
obstacles for the approach you describe, so I'll touch on those and hope I hit
at least some of the issues

1. If you protect a document as a form, most of the graphics tools will be out
of commission.

2. You CAN still insert a graphic, from a file, into a unprotected section and
do some basic things with it if it's been inserted inline with the text. As I
recall, this is the format Word 2000 will choose by default.

3. You can't really tell Word to insert a picture with a set height and width.
You can control ONE of these two dimensions by inserting it into a table cell or
a frame (from the Forms toolbar) with a set height or width (whichever is
critical); the other dimension will resize proportionately.

I'm not sure if this question should be in the graphics section or this
tables section. I'll start here first.

I'm using Win98 SE and have Word 2000.

I'm creating a form using a table to get things lined up nicely. I want it
to take up just one page. It will have drop down lists and the other mixed
types of fields common in a form. This form will be filled out on the
computer, as opposed to printing it out to be filled in by hand. The form
will take up aprox. 2/3 to 3/4 of the height of the page. I will set the
page margains to .5 in left and right so there is 7.5 of useable width on the
page. Top margain will be .5 inches and the bottom will be .55 inch. This is
the maximum I can set the bottom margain with my printer.

At the very bottom of the page I want to position 2 jpeg photos side by side
that will be sized to 3.5 inches X 2.63 inches. This means there would be a
1/2 inch space between them on the page. I would then like to add a caption
below each photo. The jpegs will be compressed so they don't take up much
room.

I've had limited use of graphics in word. I can go to the format graphic
page and experiment with the different types of layouts, but I can't get it
to do what I want. I was just using a plain Word document and not a form
when I was experimenting.

This completed form will then be sent via email to clients.

I'll attach the 2 photos to the email in the regular fashion, but I also
wanted the client to see them on the report I send as well.
