Let me clarify...

I didn't choose the best example in the world, since it's not
necessary to use User1 Style in order to make the division symbol
bold. That can be done by making Symbol Style bold. For a better
example, let's say you want to discuss with a class the limit as
x approaches zero of 1 + x over 1 - x. You want to discuss the
importance of the denominator, so you make 1 - x bold with User1
Style. That can't be done in Equation Editor.
