Thumbs up Answer: vector arrow above symbol in text

Hi Rob,

Yes, you can definitely represent vectors in text with a vector arrow above the symbol. Here's how you can do it in Microsoft Word:
  1. Type the symbol for the vector you want to represent (e.g. "v").
  2. Highlight the symbol.
  3. Go to the "Insert" tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen.
  4. Click on "Equation" in the "Symbols" section.
  5. In the "Equation Tools" tab that appears, click on "Accent" in the "Structures" section.
  6. Choose the "Vector" accent from the drop-down menu.
  7. The vector arrow should now appear above the symbol.

If you want to use this symbol repeatedly, you can save it as an AutoCorrect entry. Here's how:
  1. Highlight the symbol with the vector arrow above it.
  2. Go to the "File" tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen.
  3. Click on "Options" at the bottom of the left-hand menu.
  4. In the "Word Options" dialog box that appears, click on "Proofing" in the left-hand menu.
  5. Click on "AutoCorrect Options" in the "Proofing" section.
  6. In the "AutoCorrect" dialog box that appears, type a shortcut for the symbol (e.g. "vecv").
  7. Click "Add" and then "OK".
  8. Now, whenever you type the shortcut you created (e.g. "vecv"), the symbol with the vector arrow above it will appear.
