Default How do you remove lines in a table?

Catherine,

The answer depends upon whether you want to remove actual borders (lines)
which typically appear as solid lines or gridlines, which typically appear as
gray lines, sometimes dotted.

Here's a link to a great tutorial on working with Tables in Word:

If you want to remove gridlines, you have to do that for entire table and
not just a few cells. In Word 2003, that setting can be changed on the Table
menu. However, borders are cell specific, and you can select any cells you
want to change and use the Borders command on either the toolbar or the
Ribbon (depending upon your version of Word).
