On the Spelling & Grammar tab of Tools | Options, there is a box for
"Recheck document" that allows you to rerun spell check after Word thinks
it's done. See also

to do this, is to actually highlight the primary language, even if it's
already checked, and then, after you OK the Set Language settings, run
spell
check while the whole document is still selected. (I found that if I

the document, Word still didn't recheck the spelling.)
