Has the Contacts folder been included in the Outlook Address Book (e.g. is
select the contacts folder in Outlook, right-click, Properties|Outlook
Address Book - is "Show this folder as an e-mail address book" checked?

otherwise,
a. which version fo Word and Outlook?
b. do you have a /lot/ of contacts folders (say, more than 128) ?
