Inserting today's date in Word 2007 document

Such a basic problem.....Word 2007.101 for sure.
I am very new to Msft 2007 Suite.
I cannot figure out where is the icon or link to simply insert the date at
the top of a document.
Errr "Insert" Tab (you want to INSERT something) - err click on Date and
Time ???....it's fairly visible.....
