Word 2007 How to continue page numbering across sections
When using Word in Office 2007, after creating a new section the page
numbering restarts at 1. I would like it to continue from the previous section. In previous versions of Word there was an option for this in View | Header/Footer. I cannot find anything like this in 2007. |

Word 2007 How to continue page numbering across sections
Go to the next section after the one that has the page numbering you want to
continue. Click on Insert tab/Header&Footer group/Page Number command. Click on "Format Page Numbers." The same Page Number Format dialog box that you're used to from previous versions of Word will open. Make the changes you want. Another way to do this would be to link the current footer (and page number) to the previous section footer. Click on Insert tab/Header&Footer group/Footer command. Click on "Edit Footer." Click on the "Link to Previous" command. Page numbers continuing from the previous section should now appear in your footer. Remember, too, that before making any changes to the footers, page numbers, etc. in the second section, you need to TURN OFF the "Link to Previous" feature, THEN make your changes. Word 2007 How to continue page numbering across sections
Hello, I have to insert some text in 2 columns in my document. The problem is
it is automatically creating a section brake at the formated text and the next page has a different section and page number. I tried to link it to the previous page but it doesn't work, tried to format the page number at the "continue numbering", doesn't work even like that and I really need the page to be continuous in the whole document. I've worked before with columned text and I didn't have this kind of problem... pleas help me, it's driving me mad "gr8auntieokie" wrote: Go to the next section after the one that has the page numbering you want to continue. Word 2007 How to continue page numbering across sections
A way to avoid, rather than solve, the problem would be to put your
two-column text in a table with two columns and one row (and no borders). Then there won't be any section breaks to mess up the pagination.
