eliminating shading in merged field
Word 2003 is shading all merged fields both in the original and the final
merged document. I've tried the "Tools Options field shading never" route, and it does not eliminate the shading. How do I get rid of the shading? |

You have not actually executed the merge. Using the task pane, you must go
to Step 6 of 6 and click on the "Edit individual letters..." link that will execute your merge to a new document. Alternatively, instead of using the task pane, from the View menu, select Toolbars and check the Mail Merge item and then use the buttons on the right hand end of the toolbar to execute the merge. -- Hope this helps.
