Select the footer paragraph(s) and then add some shading: On the
Format menu, click Borders and Shading. Click the Shading tab. Choose the desired color. Make sure that "Apply to" is set to "Paragraph." Click OK. Note that, rather than adding this as direct formatting, you can add the shading to the Footer paragraph style. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "in need of help" wrote in message ... how do i make the backround of a footer a different colour to the rest of the document? |

Or, to shade the entire footer region, put a filled rectangle behind the
text of the footer. "Stefan Blom" wrote in message ... Select the footer paragraph(s) and then add some shading: On the Format menu, click Borders and Shading. Click the Shading tab. Seems like a better idea.

how do i make the backround of a footer a different colour?
Thank you, got that to work now how do i get it to print to the very edge of
the document and not clip the edge of the colour? I have adjusted the margins of the page to no avail!! I want a solid block of colour at the bottom of the page with text on it, it clips the edges off if i use footers or text box?!?!? Printing to the edge of the paper can only be done if your printer
supports it. Perhaps you can trick the printer driver by setting a larger paper size than you are actually using. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "in need of help" wrote in message ...
