track changes reviewer identity
Is it possible for track changes to mis-identify who has made what insertions
or changes? If people are using different versions of word could that happen? When I cursor over an insertion (in my home, on my computer) the author is identified as someone other than the person who claims to have made the changes (in his home, on his computer). Is that possible? Any help is really appreciated! |

The identity of the reviewer is based on the data on the User Information
tab of Tools | Options. Perhaps this is incorrect? -- Suzanne S. track changes reviewer identity
We've had reports in the past that changes were identified as being
made by someone completely unknown to the only person who had ever edited the document. I don't think we ever traced the cause of that one. No, I think you're thinking of the case where a totally unknown person was
listed as one of the reviewers (though none of the markup was actually attributed to that reviewer. Beth Melton tracked it down to a specific add-in--I forget which one. -- Suzanne S.
