Saved Documents
I have a letter that I reuse saved in my word and everytime I save it with
the current date on it, but when i later bring it up it automatically puts the current date in the date field. I have tried looking everywhere and they all tell me how to update it automatically to keep the date current on the document. But I don't want it to update. I need it to save the date the letter was created. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure it is something very easy to do but I can't figure it out. |

Saved Documents
You are using a DATE or TIME field rather than a CREATEDATE field. This
field should be put in the original template if possible (instead of inserting using the keyboard shortcut or header/footer toolbar button). In the document in question, press Alt-F9 to display field codes. Then change the field to a CREATEDATE field, press F9 and then Alt-F9. Saved Documents
And this should be in a document template, not in a "saved document" used as
a de facto template. -- Suzanne S.
