embbeding word document into an excell file
I have a spreadsheet with an increasing number of rows (40) at present
for each of the rows I need to embed a word document relating to each row of the document 1 doc per row. I have to email this daily to a partner who needs to be able to open the doc relating to the row in the spreadsheet. I have seen this before but just can not do it myself: I'd like the doc to just be a small icon that fits neatly into a cell without enlarging the rows too much, also it would be handy if possible that these icons are fixed and can not be moved or deleted by mistake. Any ideas? Brian |

Try this:
1. Insert Object, choose "Create from File" tab 2. Browse, find the Word document, then check the "Display as Icon" box before you click on OK. You can adjust the size of the icon. As for protecting them so they won't get moved or deleted by mistake, that's a little trickier. If you protect the cells, then you can't access the Word document!!! www.minutiaminders.com The Entrepreneur''''''''''''''''s Lifeline "bjnorris" wrote: I have a spreadsheet with an increasing number of rows (40) at present for each of the rows I need to embed a word document relating to each row of the document 1 doc per row. If your Word files are centrally located you could avoid overhead in your
spreadsheet by inserting the Word documents as hyperlinks. Select INSERT on the menu and select HYPERLINK or press Ctrl+K, and link back to your document. -- Kevin Backmann "bjnorris" wrote: I have a spreadsheet with an increasing number of rows (40) at present for each of the rows I need to embed a word document relating to each row of the document 1 doc per row.
