"Save as" changes file name in Word 2000
This has been happening sporadically (randomly, it seems) for some time now,
where Word 2000 will change the file name when it is moved to a different folder. Word will choose a document (without user selection) from the destination folder instead of the name of the file that is actually being moved. Of course there will be a warning to the user about replacing that file, but the real file name is lost at that point, so "cancel" and start over, and usually it works the second time. This was happening on an old computer of a co-worker, which has been recently replaced with a new system and it is still happening. Both computers use Windows XP Pro. And ideas as to what is going on? This is most frustrating, as I hear complaints about it all the time and I can't find the answer anywhere! |
