Default No Language bar

I am using XP Home SP 2.

I used to have a language bar on my taskbar but somehow it is now gone. It
is also not found in the taskbar toolbars (R-mouse on taskbar)

When I go to Control Panel/Regional & Language Options, open the Language
Tab (under Text services and input languages), and click on "Details", the
language Bar button is grayed out under Preferences.

How do I reset it so that the language bar re-appears?

Thanks.

Jeff

Maybe you currently just have keyboard (language)?

If you add another one in the dialog you mentioned, you'll get a dialog to
choose additional languages, and the corresponding keyboard layout.

I'd make sure the new languages use the same keyboard layout as your
physical keyboard (= the same as your primary language).
You'll likely have to change the layout, since XP defaults to a keyboard
layout that's typically used with the new language.

At least for European languages, it's not helpful to use different layouts
IMO -- since it will likely mess up many special characters, punctuation
characters..., and you can type all the characters needed for Latin scripts
pretty easily in Word anyway with your English layout.

Regards,
Klaus

Maybe you currently just have *one* keyboard (language)?
[= nothing to switch between = language bar does not show]

You're correct.

Funny thing is I had it previously and did not remove any languages. Ah
well. Solved, thanks.
