How do I repeat a last name from an address block in a header?
I am creating an automated letter and I'm trying to create a field in my
header to repeat the individuals last name from the address block. How do I do this? Please note this is not a mail merge situation. I intend on typing the address fresh everytime. I only want the last name of the individual to be in the header of subsequent pages going forward. |

Select the name and then format style new - character style. Give it a
name eg Surname and save it. Then apply that style to the surname. In the header use a styleref field to recall the Surname style. If your addresses are in Outlook, you may find the method of grabbing addresses at http://www.gmayor.com/Macrobutton.htm useful. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Andrew T. wrote: I am creating an automated letter and I'm trying to create a field in my header to repeat the individuals last name from the address block.
