Save the files and settings described in
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/FilesToBackup.htm. Also back up
your documents and any templates you created. Copy the backups to a
removable media such as CD-RW or a USB memory stick, being careful to
note which folder each file came from (most easily by using a
compression program such as WinZip and telling it to save the file
paths).

Using the original installation disk, install Word on the new
computer. If online activation tells you that you've used up all your
licenses, you'll have to use telephone activation (follow the
on-screen directions or see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/302806).

After Word is up and running, restore all your backed-up files into
the same locations on the new computer.

Finally, use the Control Panel Add/Remove Programs to remove Word
from the old computer if required by the license.

You should read your Office 2003 End User License Agreement to see
whether you are allowed to transfer the software to another computer.
If your copy of Office 2003 came preinstalled on your computer by the
computer manufacturer, then it is probably an OEM copy that is licensed
for installation only on the computer that the computer manufacturer put
it on, and the software cannot be legally transferred to any other
computer.
