Default What about footnotes?

And in previous versions, it's Insert | Reference | Footnote. Once you've
made your selections with regard to where the footnotes will appear and how
they will be numbered, you can use Ctrl+Alt+F to insert a new footnote.

In Word 2007, click the References tab, and then click Insert Footnote. To
set footnote options, you can right-click a footnote, and choose Note
Options from the context menu.
