How do I make cross-references of form fields work with TOC?
I am trying to create a form that cross-references form fields to populate
data later in the document. It works fine until I insert a table of contents and lock the form. Before the table of contents, the fields would update on exit, but now they don't do anything. I've searched many websites trying to figure out why. |

I can certainly confirm the behavior you are describing. I suspect that you
will need a macro to take care of the updating. A macro is needed to update the table of contents, anyway, since protected documents won't let you update TOCs. For further assistance, ask in a programming newsgroup such as microsoft.public.word.vba.general. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "April" wrote in message ...
