Default Stuttering in MS Word and G-mail

Howdy,

I'm using MS Word 2003 and Gmail with XP.

I'm getting stuttering when I type. I don't have fast fingers, but neither
Word nor Gmail will keep up.

I've gone so far as to re-install XP. Twice. But to no avail.

Do I have a virus I can't account for or a machinery problem?

Thanks

Howdy Again,

As far as I can tell, it's not overzealous anti-virus software. I'm only
using Norten Internet Security. I've never had a problem before.

Any ideas.

Thanks,

BTU

In that case it's not a Word issue, so this is not the right forum for
discussing it.

Norton has great big feet that trample all over the system. Norton will
probably have an option for checking outgoing e-mails. Turn that off too. If
that doesn't fix it you'll need to ask Norton which option affects creating
e-mails.

Hi Graham,

Thanks for the help. I've taken your suggestion even farther and turned off
Norton. The problem persists. I've re-installed XP and the problem is still
there.

Susan and Graham - in light of this recent development, which forum would
you suggest I check? I'm new to this stuff.

Thanks,

BTU
