You can use text form fields to permit freeform text entry, or you can
insert section breaks in the document and protect only specific sections, leaving the rest of the document unprotected. Note, however, that protecting any portion of a document for forms disables many Word features (access to the header and footer, for example, and the Bullets and Numbering dialog) in the entire document. -- Suzanne S.
