How to automatically add chapter title to header?
Hello,
I have a long document with a large number (~100) of short chapter (2-3 pages), and I would like to add the chapter title to the page header in each case. Is there a way to do this automatically? I've followed the procedure in MS Word Help, and defined each chapter to be a separate section. But when I view the header, and use Insert-Reference-CrossReference to insert Heading into the header, I have to manually specify which chapter title to use. Is there a way to do this automatically? Many thanks, Paul -- pauldotmoore@pandoradotbe Adjust "dots" for real address |

Insert | Field | Field names: StyleRef | Style name: whatever
Heading style your chapter titles are formatted as. PS. If you use the StyleRef field, you do not need to make each chapter a
separate section just to get a different header. (You would need separate sections to restart page numbering or footnote numbering, but otherwise you might be able to take those section breaks out).
